YDF Centre For Social Entrepreneurship

The coexistence of colony is as old as human civilisation. It often seems peculiar but it is much more than a coincidence and more deliberate. The situation is similar across every phase of the human civilisation. India was a colony of many empires in the past; After independence, the people in power in India has colonies in states like Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Chattisgarh which provide the maximum natural resources yet underdeveloped and poor. Within these states, like that of Odisha, the coastal part of Odisha has their colonies in mineral rich western Odisha.
There have been both violent and non violent struggles in and around these geographical, economic and political territories, many of them have given hopes to bring about change, many of them are working to develop the ecosystem which can harbour creative initiatives, develop critical research and innovation to promote social goods to solve some of the long pending social concerns.
Centre for Social Entrepreneurship is an effort to set up a Resource and Innovation Centre that looks into the socio political determinants of setting up social entrepreneurship ventures in states of Odisha, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal which are in the red corridor and struggling to find a solution on access to basic minimum requirements for survival for majority of its population.
CSE takes its sustenance from Youth Development Foundation and is an autonomous institution led by thoughtful young entrepreneurs who identify with the cause and are enthused about doing something together.
We never claim ourselves to be experts; we harbour a learning attitude, keep our senses wide open to respond to the criticalities of situations and realities around us, never judge or avoid playing our role as the change agent.
If at all we can claim to have started our journey towards perfection, which is our understanding on holistic community development led by young people primarily as they have to be responsible for the future ahead.
